Emmett by Ron Jude compiles a selection of the photographer's earliest works made in the 1980s in central Idaho. With the use of special effects filters and inexpensive telephoto lenses, the recurring images of an alpine forest in different seasons, drag racing, retro television sets and portraits of a the book's young protagonist lend the series an ethereal quality that drifts between personal history and the fallibility of memory.
