A Happy Hippie is a monograph by Maruša Sagadin. Its title derives from a sculpture of the same name made by the artist and reproduced in the book for the first time. The publication is divided into two interlocking narratives with associations that weave and twine together. In the first part, English author Miriam Stoney takes a leisurely look at the artist’s drawings, sketches, collages and photos of models. In the second part, photographs of installations, sculptures, and objects are accompanied by a short story by Paul Knight 'An Infinite Surface', a sensitive excursus mediated by the fictional character Karl, who describes surfaces in the contingent stream of capricious connections to objects and interpersonal experiences. The book goes in search of an inclusive form of negotiation between the city, politics, and society and their spatial consequences and social framework.

256 pages, 16.5 x 21.5 cm, hardcover, Spector Books (Leipzig).
