The Rock Hunters is a series of photographs inspired by the hobby of Lauren Bamford’s grandparents, Bonnie and Roy. In the 1960s and 70s they would often travel to Lightning Ridge, NSW to search for rare black opal. Bamford returned to Lightning Ridge in 2017 to make black & white photographs. The Rock Hunters combines these pictures with earlier vernacular imagery of Bonnie and Roy. This book was presented alongside Bamford's exhibition at c3 Contemporary Art Space.
