Apricot Poodle investigates imitation as a mechanism of social belonging by following a series of families from different socioeconomic backgrounds who converge in choosing the same breed and colour of pet. The apricot-coloured poodle becomes a symbol of distinction, and depending on its meaning for each family – whether as a reflection of their lifestyle or a significant financial effort – its appearance and care vary across different neighbourhoods in the city. The project invites reflection on the complexities of social dynamics, revealing how, even under a veneer of similarity, hierarchies and divisions persist, shaping collective identity.
