Improvising Sculpture As Delayed Fictions is the first monograph dedicated to the work of the French artist and musician Félicia Atkinson. This book, published by Shelter Press (St Martin), articulates her unique way of working through images and fiction: the painting and drawings discuss the codes of improvisation with objects, sculptures, persons, landscapes. Within the space of the book, the studio. the gallery, music and the page slot inside one another as if a surrealistic Russian doll. As a statement disguised in a poetic novel, everybody is a foreigner, camping on some perishable and transitory spaces. The fiction allows the inner voices to become images and the archives of the pieces to shift into characters. Loops, distortions of the reality, imaginary meanings are playing together.

200 pages, 13.5 x 20 cm, softcover, Shelter Press (St Martin).
