Architecture. Possible Here? "Home-for-All" is an examination of the process of and response to catastrophe following the Great East Japan Earthquake, as presented in the Japan Pavilion at the 13th Biennale of Architecture in Venice. It looks particularly at a project proposed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito called "Home-for-All", which he developed after the disaster to provide temporary shelter for those who were affected by the earthquake. The project is characterised by the way it brings together those making the facilities and those living in them to collaborate on the design and building process. Authored by Toyo Ito, Kumiko Inui,Sou Fujimoto, Akihisa Hirata, Naoya Hatakeyama, and others and published by TOTO Publishing (Tokyo), this inspiring book arrives courtesy of Idea Books (Amsterdam).
